Call for Workshops:
ACM 2027 SIGIR Conference on Human Information Interaction and Retrieval (CHIIR)

ACM SIGIR CHIIR 2027 invites submission of half-day workshops. Workshops are meant to provide a venue for addressing novel ideas and emerging research focused on user-centered aspects of information interaction and information retrieval. Generally, workshops are less formal, more interactive, and potentially more focused than the main conference itself. Typically, workshop themes will be related to topics of the main conference call for contributions, but proposals related to other areas of Human Information Interaction and Interactive Information Retrieval will also be considered. The format of each workshop will be determined by its organizers. We encourage workshops that foster collaboration, discussion, group problem-solving, and community-building initiatives. Workshops that only revolve around the presentation of papers in a “mini conference” format are strongly discouraged.

The organizers of accepted workshops will be expected to define the workshop’s focus, solicit and review submissions, invite additional workshop participants, and decide upon the final program content. At least two organizers are expected to attend and run the entire workshop.

In-Person Attendance Policy

CHIIR 2027 is an in-person conference. We believe that an in-person conference is more beneficial in terms of direct engagement and networking opportunities, more dynamic exchange of research ideas, and welcoming and nurturing newcomers.

All accepted tutorials and workshops are expected to be conducted in person. All presentations at tutorials and workshops are expected to be in person. No pre-recorded videos will be accepted.

Authorship Policy

Authors should carefully go through ACM’s authorship policy before submitting a paper. Please ensure that all authors are identified in EasyChair before the submission deadline. To support the identification of reviewers with conflicts of interest, the full author list must be specified at extended abstract submission time.

No changes to authorship, under any circumstances, will be permitted after the submission deadline. This also applies to the camera-ready submission. So, please ensure you have listed authors correctly at the submission time.

Use of AI

All submissions must comply with the ACM policy on using Artificial Intelligence.
